I also had an issue with the left/right movement in regards to the knob under the mount not tightening
enough. The bolt/knob is bottoming out in the mount housing, thus not permitting a tight fit.
I carefully removed the c clip/retaining clip that holds the knob/bolt assembly in the mount base. Be
careful to support it from the bottom, as the bolt and washers will fall out. They are in a certain order
on the bolt to provide some spring resistance. I then added @ a 3/4 or 1 inch diameter washer (as long as it fits within the circular base) to the bolt assembly sticking up thru the mount base. Added a slightly larger diameter c clip/retainer clip to hold it all together, and now it snugs up as much as you want. Bolt diameter is 1/4 inch for the new clip.
