Re: New Video on How To Install and Configure the ASCOM Driver for the iEXOS 100 Mount #ExploreScientific #iEXOS-100 #TECHNICAL
Hi Paul,
With the wireless ASCOM driver configured as shown in the video, as you hit the connect button on the POTH and the green light comes on, do you see numbers show up on the POTH indicating the RA, DEC, ALT, AZ? or does it stay blank? If it just stays blank, then you are probably seeing the problem that Robert and Jeremy have. You should hit the connect button 3 times that will re-initialize the connection. You should see the data values show up as in the video on the POTH. If that doesn't do it and all you see is blank on the POTH, then the data transfer is being interrupted somehow over the wireless connection and may be related to the local WiFi traffic. At this point, you should use your WiFi dongle to change the WiFi channel on the PMC-Eight using the procedure in this Knowledge Base article https://explorescientificusa.com/pages/why-does-my-wifi-connection-keep-dropping-out Note that when the PMC-Eight boots, such as when you apply power, there is a few second delay between the RED power light coming on and the GREEN processing light staying on a few seconds. This initial lighting of the GREEN LED is just a startup indication, until you have a data connection via wireless or wired, you will not see the GREEN LED stay on. -- Jerry Hubbell Vice President of Engineering Explore Scientific, LLC. jrh at explorescientific.com www.explorescientificusa.com 1010 S. 48th Street Springdale, AR 72762 1-866-252-3811 Author: Scientific Astrophotography: How Amateurs Can Generate and Use Professional Imaging Data Remote Observatories for Amateur Astronomers: Using High-Powered Telescopes From Home Mark Slade Remote Observatory (MSRO) IAU MPC W54 Equipment Wilderness, VA Mounts: ES PMC-Eight G11 + Telescope Drive Master (TDM) Scopes: ES 165 FPL-53 ED APO CF, ES 102 FCD100 ED APO CF Cameras: QHY174M-GPS + FW, QHY163C Misc: 3-inch 0.7x Focal Reducer Field Flattener, Filters: Luminance, Red, V-band Photometric, Diffuser, 200 lpmm Spectral Grating Software: MaxIm DL 6, Cartes du Ciel, Astrometrica, AstroImageJ, AutoStakkert!
