Hi Tim,

With the latest version of the Configuration Manager, it has never been easier to update the firmware on your PMC-Eight System.
Its literally 3 steps

1) Start the version 1.0.3 version of the PMC-Eight Configuration Manager and select the FIRMWARE tab.
2) Click the Download Firmware Button
3) Select the firmware version you want to use and click Flash Selected

You can click the View ReadMe button to review your choices and the latest updates to the firmware

Re: Reminder - PMC Configuration utility WARNING - FIXED

Thanks for the advice.
I already do that several times with success.
I just want to try this function of PMC Conf Manager.
My message was just to notify a bug and warn users that there is a risk of loosing precious photos.
For me it was no a issue because I use this folder for temporary pictures that I save later (and forget to remove)
A big cleanup !
Will not try to recover them.

Best regards

Hi Eric,
I simply downloaded database zip file from website to desktop. Clicked on file which brought up file explore. Then clicked extract all to SD card. t(I removed from Android device and inserted into pc slot on PC) clicked replace all. After completed, removed SD card (unmount external storage first) inserted into android device and opened explore stars and it worked as advertised.

If i set  x64 the mount slew slower. When its going on goto its work normaly but on mount control panel its slow, slower then on goto command.

Re: Indi Driver for Exos2 PMC-Eight

I think 64x is the suggested Max for this mount.

Much appreciate your help Jerry!
Installing the D2XX driver from that website resolved the issue for me. I was able to switch to the wired connection and looks like POTH is not freezing so far.
Can't wait for a clear night to try it out!

Chris and I did some extensive troubleshooting and we were both stumped.
I happen to own an EXOS-2 and as a last resort and I was able to successfully update the FW on that box with the DTech cable as I done previously with the G-11. The conclusion, something must be wrong with the EEPROM/Parallax chip on the G-11 box.  I expect Jerry will advise me on the next step to get the box repaired or replaced.

Deepest gratitude to Chris for going above and beyond helping me troubleshoot.

Hi asanmax,

Welcome to the forum!!

If you were trying to use the ASCOM driver first over the Wireless connection, depending on your local WiFi traffic, the connection can be problematic.  I suggest you use the WiFi dongle that came with your system to change the WiFi channel. All you have to do is plug the dongle into the auto-guider port and let it reset and then remove it and wait a few seconds for it to settle. You can power it down and power it back up to make sure it reset. The dongle will increment the channel by 1 each time you plug it in and remove it. You should find a channel where the connection is better.  As you found, the wired connection is much more reliable when using the ASCOM driver and is what we suggest everyone use if you are doing astrophotography.

As far as the USB connection on Windows 7 is concerned. Go to the FTDI website and download  the latest Windows 7 FTDI USB driver. I think that is the problem you are having.

Hope this helps.

Re: UPDATED VIDEO: New Video on How To Install and Configure the ASCOM Driver for the iEXOS 100 Mount #ExploreScientific #iEXOS-100

asanmax@...

Hello all,

Looks like I need some help dealing with POTH.
I have two computers, Windows 10 and Windows 7 respectfully.
This is my problem number one:
I followed Jerry's ASCOM installation/configuration video and was able to set it up on both computers.
The issue I am having is that POTH Hub would freeze moments after connecting to the mount on Windows 10.
On Windows 7 computer it would work fine for about 2-5 minutes and then also freeze.
I was even able to do some PHD2 autoguiding but then the mount would just stall and POTH Hub becomes unresponsive.

The second issue:
I was able to connect to the mount through POTH Hub using the serial connection (it's actually a mini-USB to USB-A cable).
It seems that POTH Hub works fine and doesn't freeze over the serial connection on the Windows 10 computer.
However I would like to use my Windows 7 laptop in the field.
For some reason when I connect the mount to that laptop, the port cannot be identified in the PMC-Eight Driver window and I cannot connect through the cable.
I've tried all 3 USB ports on the laptop and the driver just doesn't pick it up.

I hope there is a simple solution to this and I am just missing something, although I followed all the steps I took on the Win-10 computer.
Thanks in advance!

Hey my mount works lovely. Now if I could just get the ascom driver to work for my 10 year old camera I'd be in business!  (Nothing to do with this forum unfortunately.)
