Hello all, usually find myself pretty computer literate, but this setup is making me think twice. Trying to get my new mount connected to laptop via miniusb to usb and then to Stellarium.

The mount connects to PHD2 just fine, at least according to the program(havent been out in the field yet). All wired up and have the mount connected to computer, but from there I just cant seem to get things dialed in. I have the ES configuration manager and it shows wifi connecting fine, but says current mount connection is unknown, cant hit any of the "do it" buttons for other connections as they stay grayed out. Says its connected via comm port, but that it does not mean its connected via serial. Just so lost haha. Went to download stellariumscope as mentioned on the ES page, but developer says its no longer needed for Stellarium. Soooooo...what now? Thanks for any guidance!

I had similar problems with the POTH buttons, but I use CdC as also stated by Lloyd it works well.  I also link SharpCap to the mount and use the buttons in it to move the scope for fine tuning and for manual guiding when I am doing planetary photography.  I tried plate solving in SharpCap but have not had luck with that yet though.

when I try connecting via Wifi with ASCOM, it gets stuck for a while then I get the following error:

I checked the settings and they seem correct in the ASCOM device connection tester (Using ESP.WROOM02 as wifi module for iexos 100)

I just received my iEXOS 100 today and wanted to test its capabilities.
Connecting to the wifi through the ExploreStars app works with no problems and I can move both axes.
The problems started when I tried to connect to the mount via usb. I first started using Indi since I use Ubuntu as main OS.
I followed the tutorial but it always ended up with a timeout when trying to connect.

Then I switched to Windows and installes ASCOM and the ASCOM 64/32 bit drivers.
I also upgraded the firmware to the latest version, this worked via usb.

When I open ASCOM diagnostics and try to connect, I also get a timeout, but the log is more detailed than in Indi

Hi, I'm not sure that you are using the dedicated iEXOS100 Polar Scope. If you go to the Explore Scientific product website you will find it. It attaches to the mount with a bracket and the reticule shows both Ursa Major and Cass.

I can go through the PA procedure for you using the product if you wish, but yours as I say I don't think is the dedicated PS.

I wouldn't use the POTH buttons to move the mount. The way they work is not intuitive, Connect your mount (via POTH) to Cartes du Ciel and choose a target to sync the mount. The hand controller buttons in CdC work as expected to make fine adjustments. A properly aligned finderscope or red dot finder can also help if the alignment star is not in your FOV.

Hi everyone. 

Well, this has been a journey. The results from this mount mean it is worth persevering but OMG, it is sometimes ever so frustrating. I finally can get good polar alignment and unguided tracking works a treat. But I am struggling to get guided tracking. The issue is after I have polar alignment, I cannot get the mount to slew to target using the NSEW controls. The only way I have been able to get the target is to manual release the clutches and swing the whole mount towards the target (polar alignment thereafter somewhat haphazard).

Really could do with some help, as I am sure I am missing something really basic. This is my process:

• POTH Hub connected and able to control the mount using the sw controls and make sure the GPS coordinates are entered correctly
• Polar align using SharpCap - minor adjustments using the knobs.
• Use the POTH Hub sw controls to point to a star away  from Polaris (this is where it fails!!) - it will slew but I cannot get it to point south. All the directional controls work. but it seems as if the E makes it move slowly to the N and thee N  slews a large distance...and so on. 

So I have to manual swing the mount. If I could use the sw to align to a star away from Polaris, I would then:

• Run PHD2 and calibrate
• Point at target using POTH Hub sw controls
• Run guided tracking through PHD2
• Take many images and sip a warm coffee.

What am I doing wrong!?!

I'm unsure if wireless is set correctly in the pmc config manager. I guess part of the issue is that I don't really know how to tell what it is set to, what it should be set to, or how to change it. Under mount type i do have Exos-2 selected. I am unable to change any fields under the connection tab besides the mount type.

I did reboot the laptop. I also pulled the PMC8 power and plug it back in (I think this is how you reboot the PMC8?) prior to connecting. I have not tried the reset button. Can pushing the reset button mess anything up?
