Connecting Pmc8 to Phd2
Hi,
I am sorry if this is a newbie question but I was wondering if someone can help me as I am new to the PMC-8 system. I am trying to connect the Pmc8 to phd2 (Pulse GUiding). So should I use the POTH Hub in mount options or the ES PMC8 Driver. Any help in this regard is appreciated. For some reason the mount doesnt seem to be calibrating properly. I am in India and using the ES G11 with the Pmc8. Madhavan

Hi Matt and Steve,
Thanks for looking into this. When I used Internet Explorer, the downloads worked fine on both PCs. Paul -- AT72EDii OTA (on backorder) iEXOS-100 mount ZWO 30F4 mini guide scope ZWO 120mm mini mono guide camera Nikon D5300

Re: Malicious Download Detected Error

Hey. I've checked this main URL with VirusTotal, it compares it with a
number of commercial antivirus engines etc (~80 or so), and it
checks out OK. The actual download site
(http://02d3287.netsolhost.com/pmc-eight/) has one hit against it
(from Dr.Web). This is most likely because of some other content
that has been hosted on netsolhost.com at some stage. I can't find
any details as to why Dr.Web is thinking this...
Do you use Dr.Web for antivirus?
Some time ago, I had one of my home network security thingies
complain about the main explorescientific site, but that was
either a false positive, or rectified quickly.
Cheers -

Hi Paul, I have not encountered this trouble, however, it's possible you may be using the Safe Browsing feature (Chrome), SmartScreen (Edge) on the browser, or, possibly some anti-virus software shared by the PC's that may need adjustment. - Matt

Malicious Download Detected Error
Paul
Hello,
On two different Windows 10 PCs, running both EDGE and Chrome, when I try to download anything from the https://explorescientificusa.com/pages/software-and-downloads-for-pmc-eight-system, like the latest firmware, or the utility or config manager, I get an "Malicious Download Detected" error and the download aborts. Anyone else seeing this? Thanks, Paul -- AT72EDii OTA iEXOS-100 mount ZWO 30F4 mini guide scope ZWO 120mm mini mono guide camera Nikon D5300

OMG..........
1 minute after I send the last message, the mount disconnect. I am using APT connecting with ASCOM via ASCOM device hub. The APT and the hub freezes, I went in the pmc-right configuration manager and clicked in "find current connection". Immediately the APT and device hub comes up and worked.

Good news:
Serial works 100% good. Before, the problems was the same, wifi or serial. But I changed the usb cable and voila! Works! The cable that I did used, was new, but, I don't know why, didn't work. I used the same cable of my Canon camera in the mount and works very wheel. But I am trying to use the mount via WiFi, and I discovered that the problem that make the wifi connect for some secunds and after, disconnect, is the WINDOWS!!! I am not 100% sure yet, but, I disabled the firewall of the windows and the mount is working!!!! It's working for 1 hour, but, until this, the mount disconnect, after working for 30 mim. I am making more tests for have sure if is the windows firewall the problem.

Don,
Glad it worked out. Interested to know if you have any binding issues with all the backlash taken out. Also, I had the same issue not being able to turn the screw on the worm gear bearing block. I had to adjust the same way, by loosening the screw holding the block in place. Hope this is not causing a problem. Hughes

Re: iEXOS-100 serial connection "issue"
Well, the direct Mini USB to USB-C cable arrived today and it works just fine. That said, just curious why it can't pass the over a USB hub. Just tired of having to buy a new cable for every little thing.
