I've checked this main URL with VirusTotal, it compares it with a number of commercial antivirus engines etc (~80 or so), and it checks out OK. The actual download site (http://02d3287.netsolhost.com/pmc-eight/) has one hit against it (from Dr.Web). This is most likely because of some other content that has been hosted on netsolhost.com at some stage. I can't find any details as to why Dr.Web is thinking this...

Do you use Dr.Web for antivirus?

Some time ago, I had one of my home network security thingies complain about the main explorescientific site, but that was either a false positive, or rectified quickly.

On two different Windows 10 PCs, running both EDGE and Chrome,  when I try to download anything from the https://explorescientificusa.com/pages/software-and-downloads-for-pmc-eight-system, like the latest firmware, or the utility or config manager, I get an "Malicious Download Detected" error and the download aborts.  Anyone else seeing this?

have you tried to use the WIFI changer to see if that helps with Wifi to help with a stable connection.

have you tried using POTH instead of the HUB im curious if you had to use it and does it give the same results. I'm aware that the device hub took over with the 6.5 update but you can still use poth

So any idea what it could be?

or what i could do to find out? The pattern really repeats and stays the same. Maybe that info can help.

I just guess this is a 'feature'.....

I have so much grinding noise that I am going to adjust as much of that out and see where backlash falls. Honestly, the screw at the end of the worm gear should not be shipped so tight that one cannot adjust it - otherwise, the user is having to adjust things in a way that gets the alignment askew, and I think that results in the grinding noise. 

The grinding noise is like a pain one experiences - it is telling you something that something is not right. Hughes, good to hear that this can be guided out because I only do imaging and was worried that this will not result in round stars.

UPDATE: Hughes, you nailed it!!! with your statement ' I'm wondering if it is just coming from the belt as you push on it." I turned the worm by gently rotating the belt gear on the belt side of the worm without pressing on it and, voila, 90% of the grinding went away...just a small spot at one point of the full rotation has that grind and I do not feel it will present a problem in operating the mount.

And, no more RA backlash.
