TL;DR. Got serial Ascom connection to work, how do i do 3 star alignment without Explore Stars now? Mount does not accept slew commands from POTH or Cartes du Ciel without alignment, and Explore Stars

They can be found for as little as $46 cad and green. They are used to sight scopes to rifles. Very accurate if the bore is.

The key you mention only types a . but lets get beyond that because that is not a problem right now.
I don't think that I've had a decent polar alignment so that is why I downloaded PS Align app

The IP address is vital. It is 192.168.47.1

My iPad will load longitude and latitude without being connected to cellular or wifi.
And it has a minus sign to denote longitude west of the prime meridian. That minus sign is absolutely

I observe about 40 miles from my home and no WiFi except for the PMC8 network. The longitude and and latitude data is saved from when my iPad was connected to my home network but is off by a good

FWIW, I use ExStars on an iPad, WiFi only.
I have no problem using the “Load GPS...” button to load my location each time I observe. In fact, sitting on my couch just now reading this discussion

Thanks Harry, I use an app on mi iPhone also to put in the coordinates on my iPad. But as I said the screen to enter the coordinates on ExploreStars does not in crude a minus signal. I only included

Here is how I "polar aligned" my 100 last week...it worked like a charm. Granted I was using a 70-200 lens set at 70 lens but it worked well.
