Pretty happy with the mount after a rough start...
So, we put a solid 5 hour astronomy session tonight after the skies cleared for good, a bit of scintillation on the stars but overall way better than overcast snowstorm. Before going the ASCOM route

I fully agree with your thinking on the purpose of the ExploreStars app versus the ASCOM driver. The ExploreStars app was only intended to be a hand controller with some extra graphical features

Jerry, nobody stated that what was shipped didn't work. The app didn't ship, I downloaded it, and my grips are with a piece of software, a piece of software that when compared to the level of quality

To change the configuration of the WiFi module you can only do that over the WiFi link as you have determined.
YOU MUST BE COMFORTABLE WITH MAKING THESE TYPES OF CONFIGURATION CHANGES PRIOR

My experience has been that you must connect the PMC8 as normal along with the hardwire to your computer - then you must go into your network settings and find the PMC connection and connect
