ExploreStars for Windows

Harald Stauss

Hi:
I wonder where I can obtain the ExploreStars software for windows without using the Microsoft Store. I don't have (and don't want) a Microsoft account and thus, have no access to the Microsoft Store. Is there a download link to the ExploreStars software for windows?
Thanks,

Harald

Hi Harald,

Unfortunately the Windows ExploreStars was developed under Windows 8 as a Metro app which can only be distributed as an APP.  It is not the same as a standard PC program application. There is no other way to install it.  You could just create a temporary email account with perhaps and then use that to create your Microsoft account and then you could delete it after you install it on your device.

OK. Thank you.
This is unfortunate. I will look into alternative ASCOM software.
Is there any specific one that you can recommend?
Thank you,

Harald
