Explore Scientific has released the latest  version of our Android ExploreStars Application for the PMC-Eight GOTO Mount System available on our G11, EXOS 2, and iEXOS 100 mounts.

Version number 1.8.19241.462 is available now on the Google Play Store and on the Amazon App Store. 

This is a minor update from the previous one (some of these features listed below were in the previous release).

What's new in version 1.8

  • Fixes minor bugs.
  • Add support for new PMC-8 firmware.
  • Enables Track/Point selection.
  • Automatic mount selection from firmware version. (Firmware Ver 2.0 and above)
  • Added Obs button to show what objects are in or near the view in the eyepiece.
  • Increased number of Alignment Stars
  • Increase number of Bright Stars

 

Your Android device may notify you and/or update the ExploreStars application automatically. To verify the version number:

1. Press the Menu button on the main page.

2. Select "About"

3. The ExploreStars version number is at the top of the page, you should see "ES Version: 1.8.19241.462"
